Jackal (Soft Counter): Assuming the Tachanka player travels outside of the objective area - a Jackal can potentially ping his stationary position by scanning his older footprints - revealing the potential location of his mounted turret for the attacking team.Ballistic Shields (Soft Counter): Any attacker wielding a ballistic shield (Blitz, Montagne, Recruit, etc) can withstand suppressive fire from a Tachanka turret.Ash/ Nomad/ Zofia (Soft Counter): Ash, Nomad, and Zofia all have devices that can be launched from a distance that can dislodge Tachanka (or other defenders) actively using his mounted turret.Glaz (Hard Counter): Using a combination of his thermal scope and smoke grenades, Glaz can pick off Tachanka players with ease - without the risk of being directly targeted by the mounted MG.Similarly, Fuze can launch his explosive cluster charge at fortified Tachanka players from adjacent walls or ceilings. Capitao/ Fuze (Hard Counter): Capitao can fire his incendiary darts at Tachanka's turret position, killing anyone currently using the mounted weapon.Cooking a grenade and throwing it into a suspected Tachanka position will almost certainly neutralize both the turret and the player controlling it. This makes any grenades, lethal or nonlethal, highly effective against him. Grenades (Hard Counter): Tachanka's biggest downside is that his ability requires him to remain in a stationary location.However, his SASG-12 Semi Auto Shotgun can also be an effective firearm, especially when dealing with close range targets pushing into the objective.
Tachanka's 9x19VSN SMG is typically the ideal weapon for this character, thanks mostly to its excellent stopping power and easy to control recoil. Tachanka is also very effective with his powerful 9x19VSN SMG and heavy armor - perfect for defending close to objectives. Additionally, the turret can be used to break open large sections of the wall to create sight lines, perfect for widening the defensive zone in smaller objective areas. The turrets powerful rounds can rip apart soft walls and barricades with ease, perfect for attacking enemies on the other-side. Because of his turret's massive weak-spot, it's recommended that players avoid being detected when deploying the MG, and only open fire at the opportune moment. He is best served close to the objective at critical choke-points. Tachanka is designed as a heavy support role. To protect against deadly head-shots - the turret sports a bulletproof shield - similar to 's rifle shield, that can be broken after receiving enough damage.The mounted LMG can also be collapsed and relocated - useful for surprising the attacking team.
